Founded in 2015, On Point Strategies is an independent political consulting, communications and public affairs firm specializing in issue campaigns, public affairs strategy, and coalition management – supporting clients at federal and state levels.

 

The firm's founder and principal, Maureen Westphal, is a highly-regarded professional with a solid record of success in public relations, communications and government affairs at the state and federal levels. Prior to forming On Point Strategies, Westphal served as a senior director of Story Partners, a public affairs firm in Washington, D.C.; as director of communications for the American Beverage Association, the trade association that represents America's non-alcoholic beverage industry; and she held several communications positions in the U.S. House of Representatives – for Congressman Steny Hoyer, in his roles as House Majority Leader and Minority Whip, and for the House Committee on Appropriations. Westphal began her political career in Denver, Colorado, where she served as a legislative aide for Senate Majority Leader Ken Gordon, and led statewide candidate and issue campaigns.
